FERRIDAY — Services for Obie Jones Jr., 58, of Vidalia, who died Sunday, July 24, 2011, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Thomas Baptist Church in Levee Heights in Ferriday with the Rev. Robert Strickland officiating.

Burial will follow at the Vidalia Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Jones was born Dec. 10, 1952, in Vidalia, the son of Obie and Margaret Lyles Jones. He was employed as a heavy equipment operator.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Survivors include his mother of Vidalia; two sons, Craig Jones and wife, Genia, of Houston, Texas and Tremaine Jones and wife, Jackie, of Vidalia; five brothers, Jerry Jones and wife, Barbara, Arthur Jones and wife, Sheryl, all of Houston, Stevenson Jones of Vidalia, Clay Jones and wife, Debra, of Washington, D.C., and Eric Jones and wife, Alicia, of Lake Charles, La.; one sister, Rosetta Derozan of Vidalia; three grandchildren; and a number of aunts, uncles and other relatives.
