NATCHEZ — Local banks are reporting that some customers have received calls from someone claiming to be affiliated with FDIC.

The caller says he would like to verify that the customer is fully covered at their bank, then asks for account information.

Representatives at Britton & Koontz Bank and United Mississippi Bank said these calls are frauds and encouraged local residents to refrain from giving out any account information over the phone.
