NATCHEZ — On Monday, James Cockerham was once again resting in a Jackson hospital after undergoing another operation as a result of last week’s school bus accident in Vidalia.
Cockerham was the bus driver. Monday’s operation was meant to repair the multiple breaks in Cockerham’s legs.
His daughter, Nicole Cockerham, said doctors were able to complete repairs to his right leg, however she was unsure when the rest of the surgeries would be completed.
A blood drive has also been organized for Cockerham to coincide with the Great Mississippi River Balloon Race. It will be near the Fort Rosalie entrance Saturday.
