VIDALIA — A bank account has been set up to help defray the medical expenses of James Cockerham.
Cockerham was seriously injured when the school bus he was driving was involved in an accident Oct. 8. During the accident both of his legs were broken, and he sustained a major cut to his face, which severed an artery. He has already undergone surgery to repair one leg and other surgeries are to follow.
Anyone who wants to donate may go to the Vidalia or Ferriday branches of Delta Bank and say they want to give to the James Cockerham fund, Cockerham’s neighbor and friend Patsy Hartley said.
A blood drive will also be hosted for Cockerham’s benefit near the entrance of Fort Rosalie Saturday.
