The Natchez Board of Aldermen sent back the proposed zoning ordinance amendment for RV resorts back to the Natchez Planning Commission Tuesday night.
City Planner John “Rusty” Lewis asked for a public hearing to be set on four text amendments and the zoning issue.
Two of these include Monmouth Plantation rezoning an R-1 parcel to B-2 in order to open a spa and the other is Larry L. “Butch” Brown’s RV resort proposal on Canal Street.
Alderman Bob Pollard voted to set public hearings for all points except the RV resort text amendment.
“I move that (it) be sent back to planning to revisit their request,” Pollard said.
The board approved Pollard’s motion.
The public hearing for the other matters is set for that board’s Nov. 25 meeting.
In other business:
– The board voted to accept a bid for the Marblestone Road project. The bid accepted was from Camo Construction Company in Vidalia for $28,017.10.
– Alderman Ricky Gray and Pollard both requested the city begin looking into a smoking ordinance.
