TWENTY YEARS AGO — Natchez High senior track standout Christopher Shaw signs a national letter of intent with Texas Southern, choosing TSU over Ole Miss, Southern Mississippi and Northeast Louisiana.
TEN YEARS AGO — Twelve-year-old Mattie Smith, a pitcher/first baseman for Blain Company in Natchez Dixie Youth Baseball 11-12-year-olds, becomes the first female ever to hit a home run at that level.
FIVE YEARS AGO — Chapman Sharp pitches a no-hitter, strikes out nine batters and hits a double to led Dr. Bug to a convincing 13-3 win over Dr. Pepper in Natchez Dixie Youth Minor League action.
