WCCA boys 56, Amite School Center 31

WOODVILLE — Tip McKenzie led four Rams players in double figures with a game-high 16 points as they rolled to a 25-point win over the Rebels Monday night.

The key to WCCA’s win was its play in the first quarter on both ends of the court. Amite School Center couldn’t get much going on offense and was not able to slow down the Rams at all. The result was a 21-3 led for WCCA (3-0) at the end of the quarter.

The Rams continued to control the game until the end of the third quarter, when they had a commanding 47-16 lead. With most of WCCA’s starters on the bench in the fourth quarter, Amite School Center (0-3) was able to outscore the Rams 15-9 to make the outcome a little more respectable.

Luke Whitaker had 12 points while Todd Gonda and Christopher Houghton each chipped in with 11 points for WCCA. Lucas Felder led Amite School Center with 11 points.
