JONESVILLE — A local man was arrested Thursday on an outstanding Colorado warrant for Internet sexual exploitation of a child, according to a Louisiana State Police news release.
The Louisiana State Criminal Investigations Division arrested Phillip Tolbert, 23, of Jonesville, after the LaSalle Parish Sheriff’s office contacted them.
When agents discovered a romantic conversation Tolbert had with a female juvenile who lived in Louisiana, they contacted the female, according to the release. She reported that sexual contact had occurred in both Louisiana and Mississippi.
Because sexual contact was made in Mississippi, the release states, the Adams County Sheriff’s Department was alerted and asked to assist with the investigation.
Tolbert was charged with one count of indecent behavior and one count of felony carnal knowledge of a juvenile and booked into the Catahoula Parish Detention Center, according to the release.
Mississippi charges are still pending, the release states, and Tolbert is on probation for attempted Internet sexual exploitation of a child out of Colorado.
