NATCHEZ — Emergency responders, law enforcement personnel and ultimately the coroner responded to the 100 block of Main Street just before 2:30 p.m. Thursday afternoon, drawing onlookers.

Crime scene tape marked off a section of the block while officials worked inside a residence.

Natchez Police Chief Mike Mullins confirmed later Thursday that the incident was a suicide.

In the case of suicide, The Democrat does not publish the name of the person who died.
