NATCHEZ — A Natchez woman has been indicted on charges of felony child abuse.
Natchez Police Chief Mike Mullins said on June 30, Natchez Regional Medical Center made a report to the police department about a 3-year-old boy who had severe internal injuries.
“Evidence showed that the mother had punched the child with her fists in the child’s stomach,” he said.
The child had to be transported to the University Medical Center in Jackson to be treated.
Rashonda M. Seals, 21, Apt. H-2, 137 Lewis Drive, is being held on a $20,000 bond at Adams County Sheriff’s Office.
The child is currently in the custody of his grandmother.
