Concordia Bank & Trust recently completed the purchase of a downtown Natchez location.

Concordia Bank CEO Pat Biglane said the bank has purchased the Switzer, Hopkins and Mange Building on Main Street at Wall Street within the last two weeks.

“The new location will allow us to better serve our customers,” he said. “Many of our customers from downtown Natchez would travel to Vidalia to bank. With the new branch, they will no longer have to do that.”

Biglane said the bank was approached by representatives from the downtown building about possibly purchasing the property.

“We went and looked at it and decided that it would be a way we could offer more convenience for our customers,” he said.

No construction or renovation plans have been developed for the building, but it has been determined that the building directly behind their location will be torn down.

“We are going to demolish that building to make way for a drive-thru,” Biglane said. “The new location will be a full service banking location.”

No timeline has been set to have the new branch open, but Biglane said the bank is anxious to open the downtown doors.

“We are hoping to get in there as soon as possible,” he said.

Concordia Bank will have a grand opening ceremony at 9 a.m. on Monday for a recently constructed U.S. 61 N. branch.
