Mother Nature wasn’t ready to settle in for a quiet week in the Miss-Lou last week.

And despite considerable storm damage and a freak sleet storm, the week still brought plenty of good news to the area.

Let’s review some of the good news from last week.

4 The Mississippi Economic Council brought its traveling show to Natchez Wednesday, talking to a group of business leaders about the future of Natchez and Mississippi.

The lesson was simple — change starts with you — and the number in attendance was proof that people here care.

4 Natchez-Adams School District Superintendent Anthony Morris has received the state’s highest education honor — Mississippi Superintendent of the Year.

Dr. Morris was awarded the title for his dedication to students. We are happy to have someone worthy of such an honor leading our schools.

4 Dancers at Concordia Parish Dance Studio put on a show last week. The group’s Christmas production showcased their hard work and dedication to the program.

4 The former Ferriday Walmart has a new owner. Hardware store Budget Build Lumber and Supply Company will be moving into the location soon. It’s great to see this vacant property filling again, and we are happy business is able to expand in Ferriday.

Christmas is coming fast, and we know the good news will come right along with it.
