NATCHEZ — The Natchez cougar has been spotted once again. This time, the cougar was seen in a bayou from an apartment complex north of Natchez. Authorities have asked that the name of the complex not be named at this time.

But unlike other sightings, the cougar doesn’t seem to be in any hurry to leave the area.

Representatives with the apartment complex said they spotted the cougar briefly Tuesday morning and then again today. Onlookers say the cougar has been in the same area for more than 30 minutes.

After spotting the cat this morning, apartment officials called the police who are currently on the scene.

The area where the cougar has been spotted is near a wooded area and creek that backs up to the apartment complex property.

The complex manager said she wasn’t surprised that the cougar was in the area because they haven’t seen as many deer as they usually do this time of year.
