NATCHEZ — Sonya Walls was only going over to her sister’s apartment to get some hair gel.
What she ended up with was a bullet through the leg.
Walls was allegedly shot by her sister’s boyfriend Transanthony Rondell Williams, 26, Apt. 703, 201 Lumber St., on Saturday.
As Walls was walking into her sister’s apartment, she passed Williams.
“I didn’t know anything was going on,” she said.
It was when Walls was inside that Williams reportedly shot through the window of the Cedarhurst apartment and struck Walls.
“It went through my leg,” Wall said of the bullet that struck her lower leg. “I felt the bullet, then I looked down and saw the blood.”
She said she didn’t feel any pain at first, which allowed her to run across the street to her apartment to get her boyfriend, who then drove her to the hospital.
“When I got in the hospital bed, it started burning,” she said.
Walls said she was surprised by Williams’ alleged actions.
“I didn’t know he was going to do anything like that,” she said.
Walls said she has not had an ongoing relationship with Williams, like the Natchez Police Department previously reported.
The police department also believed that the gunshot was related to an argument that took place between Williams and Walls the night before.
Walls said she had not been fighting with Williams.
She said if her sister had been fighting with Williams that Friday, it had nothing to do with Saturday’s shooting.
After Walls was taken to the hospital, she was released a few hours later.
