BATON ROUGE — Natchez High’s boys and girls indoor track team had a good showing Saturday at the LSU High School Indoor Classic against some of the best teams and clubs in the nation.

There were quite a few big moments for Natchez High on this day, including Ernest Jones’s first-place finish in the high jump with a jump of 6 feet, 4 inches. The boys’ 4×200 meter relay team finished fifth overall and Alicia Wimley finished second overall in the triple jump.

“At this particular meet, you do not have a points scoring system,” Natchez High coach Larry Wesley said. “Ernest won the high jump. I predicted that. Alicia did better than she did last year. She was fourth in the triple jump last year. The boys’ 4×200 relay made the finals, and only seven teams made the finals.
