NATCHEZ — Sparks will definitely fly in the Miss-Lou this Independence Day.
A Fourth of July fireworks display is set for dusk near Roth Hill Road, event organizer Stratton Hall said.
“We are signed, sealed and delivered for the Fourth of July,” Hall said Tuesday. “It will be spectacular like it was last year.”
Confusion among local officials about who would sponsor the fireworks display led to the event being set on July 3 last year. Hall said there is no such confusion this year.
Sponsors include the City of Natchez, the City of Vidalia, the Natchez Convention and Visitor Bureau, Delta Bank, Britton & Koontz Bank, Concordia Bank & Trust, United Mississippi Bank, The Markets, Bowie’s Tavern, Natchez Grand Hotel, Natchez Convention Center, Comfort Suites, The Natchez Democrat and Premier Gaming Group.
“(The display) would not be possible without our local community sponsors,” Hall said. “Premier Gaming is allowing us to use property down at Roth Hill, we’ve applied with the U.S. Coast Guard and we’re right on track.”
Hall said Pyrotecnico, a full-service professional fireworks company in New Orleans, will coordinate the display.
“Everyone needs to come out and enjoy the festivities,” Hall said. “It’s a great event for family and friends.”
