NATCHEZ — At Tuesday’s meeting of the Adams County Board of Supervisors, residents living on the land surrounding Emerald Mound got a chance to have their voices heard.

Several months ago residents in the area learned the U.S. Park Service was moving forward on an improvement project that required some residents to be relocated from their homes.

Gwendolyn Ware has already sold her home to the county, which is in charge of getting the right of ways for the project, but said she disliked the matter in which she was treated during the process.

However Tuesday’s meeting was conducted in executive session and residents could not be reached for comment at the meeting’s end.

After the meeting Supervisor Darryl Grennell said he felt most residents were able to have their questions and concerns taken care of during the meeting.

“We all learned a lot,” he said. “And we’re pleased to see some dialogue was going on.”
