MONTICELLO — Jeremy McMorris made one of two free throws and then blocked a 3-point shot with about five seconds left in overtime to give Natchez High a 75-74 win over Lawrence County Tuesday night.

Vidalia (19-1, 1-0; No. 2 in the Class 3A power ratings) controlled the action in the first quarter on its way to a 24-4 lead. However, head coach Robert Sanders was not happy with the team’s defense in the second quarter when Bunkie scored 19 points.
“We came out and jumped on them early. Our shots were falling and we were playing good defense,” Sanders said. “We slacked up on them in the second quarter. We picked it back up in the second half. I was pleased with our overall effort.”
