DOLOROSO — Services for Phebeann Phipps, 92, of Doloroso, who died Friday, June 24, 2011, at Promise Hospital in Baton Rouge, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Free Spring Baptist Church in Doloroso with the Rev. Dandridge Brooks officiating.

Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at Rose Hill Baptist Church in Doloroso.

Mrs. Phipps was born June 19, 1919, in Doloroso, the daughter of Silas and Eliza McCullar Barnes. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Henry D. Phipps Sr.; and one son, Silas Phipps.

Survivors include four sons, Solomon Phipps, Henry Phipps and wife, Rosemary, and Jetterson Phipps and wife, Judy, all of New Orleans, and Ivory Phipps and wife, Mable, of Doloroso; four daughters, Dorothy Mitchell Cage and Martha P. Carter, both of Doloroso, Mary P. Brown of Natchez and Bernice Williams and Donald Jones, both of New Orleans; one godchild, Juanita Cooper and husband, Willard, of Woodville; 32 grandchildren; 77 great-grandchildren; 17 great-great-grandchildren; six great-great-great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
