NATCHEZ — Approximately 641 Natchez residences temporarily lost power starting at 3:50 p.m. Monday after a power line pole was damaged on State Street near Arlington Avenue.
Entergy Customer Service Manager Tim Runnels said the outage was caused when an unknown object hit a guide wire supporting the pole, which shook the pole and caused power lines to slap against each other and arch.
Runnels said he thinks a lawnmower or some other piece of equipment might have hit the guide line, since he suspects a car would have caused more damage.
Entergy restored power at 196 residences at 5:14 p.m., and the remaining 445 residences had power by 6:21 p.m.
