WCCA celebrates 100th day

Woodville — WCCA’s elementary school celebrated the 100th day of school on Jan. 21 in the gym. The students were given lollipops to lick 100 times.
Half of the fifth grade class drew exciting inventions that they believed will be around in 100 years. The other half drew pictures of what they think they will look like in 100 years.
Timi Polan accompanied Hannah Ashley, Rachel Lipke, Craig Lyons, Julia Pace, Ron Polan, Spencer Smith, Garrett Wilkerson, Carol Johnson, Taylor Littleton, Andria MaHoney, Sam Pace, Lily Smith, Cal Wilkerson and Timmy Wilson to the state student council convention in Jackson.
The Rev. Bernard Waites presented the devotion at WCCA on Jan. 19. He used the Biblical example of the woman at the well to explain the difference one life changed by Jesus can make on a whole town.
WCCA student Timothy Leak built a fitness trail around the WCCA campus. This wonderful project is a part of his Boy Scout endeavors. The public is invited to the dedication of the WCCA Fitness Trail at 3 p.m. on Jan. 29.
WCCA sophomores will sell flowers for Valentine’s Day. These flowers went on sale Jan. 23. The proceeds from this fundraiser will benefit the 2010 junior/senior prom.
Parents and friends are invited to the view the artwork done by students displayed in the elementary hallway.
The WCCA Annual Art Contest will be on Jan. 27.
Other upcoming events are
Jan. 29 — Rams Basketball Tensas at 5 p.m. at WCCA. There will be no JV boys game.
Jan. 31 — Junior varsity basketball will have a district tournament. The time and place are TBA.
Feb. 2 – Feb. 6 — Varsity basketball will participate in district tournament. The time and place are TBA.
Feb. 5 — Progress reports will be distributed.
