“We came out a little flat at the plate,” 12-year-old team coach Gary Farmer said. “We are a good hitting team but we did not have a hit until the fifth inning. Their pitcher shut us down.”

Farmer said consecutive hits by Cooper Murray, Phillip Roberts, Jace Calcote and Sam Parker got his team going in the inning.

Parker got the win for the 12-year-old squad. Dalvion Jackson also added a 3-run homer to the team’s tally.

The team will play Lincoln County’s American League team at 7:30 p.m. today in Franklin County, Farmer said.
