FERRIDAY — Four people were arrested Monday night after police discovered that they allegedly had more than $2,000 in marijuana in the car with them.
The Ferriday Police received a call about a suspicious car in the area of Pasternack Street at approximately 11:15 p.m. Monday, Assistant Chief Johnny Evans said.
When the officer arrived in the area, he saw a car parked with four people sitting inside, and he reportedly smelled the strong smell of marijuana, Evans said.
The four people in the car were Michael Chad Kelly, 25, Bryan Hilson, 21, Jasmine D. Cameron, 17, and a juvenile.
After checking the vehicle and the passengers, the officer reportedly discovered 56 grams of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, Evans said.
“The (alleged) marijuana was still in two large bundles, but the drug paraphernalia was small packages that they would use for sale,” Evans said.
The passengers were charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.
Kelly, Hilson and Cameron were also charged with contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile.
The suspects were detained at the Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office without bond, and they will be magistrated before the Seventh Judicial District Court this morning.
