BUDE — Services for Rosia R. “Jack” Davis Jr., 84, of Meadville, who died Monday, June 20, 2011, at his residence, will be at 11 a.m. today at First Baptist Church of Bude with the Rev. Wiley Reid, the Rev. Harold Anderson and the Rev. Brad Moak officiating.

Burial will follow at New Salem Church Cemetery in McCall Creek under the direction of Franklin Funeral Home in Meadville.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time today at the church.

Mr. Davis was born Feb. 13, 1927, the son of R.R. Davis Sr. and Virgie Calhoun Davis. Vergie was a retired truck driver and a member of First Baptist Church of Bude.

Active in local politics, Jack served as constable in district one of Franklin County from 1964-1968. He also served as chairman of the Republican Party of Franklin County for a number of years.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Betty Ann; his parents; and one brother, Gerald.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Alice Thompson Davis; two sons, Bobby Davis of Meadville and Ken Davis and wife, Barbara Jean, of Natchez; one daughter, Faye Enzman and husband, Jim, of Meadville; one sister, Virginia Bounds of Gulfport; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Pallbearers will be Paul Holloway, Ryan Davis, Walt Davis, Anthony Davis, Richard Thompson and Wes Coleman.

Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Wilburn, James Newman, Buford Davis, Darrell Higginbotham, Mike Nash, Jim Enzman, Coley Ratcliff, Philip Godbold, John Ward and Kennon Adams.
