NATCHEZ — The permanent striping of the newly overlaid city streets should be complete today, City Engineer David Gardner said.

The striping crew began laying the thermoplastic striping Thursday on Homochitto, Martin Luther King Jr., St. Catherine and Franklin streets.

Temporary paint was placed last week, as the roads were without striping for months.

City Engineer David Gardner said the paint was only temporary until the thermoplastic — a mixture of melted plastic and glass for reflectivity — was placed, which lasts longer.
