Gospel fest celebrates third anniversary

Vidalia — The third anniversary of First Saturday Gospel Music Fest will be at 6 p.m. today.
The event was started in March 2006 after a group of gospel music lovers decided to have a local event featuring singing groups from the regional area.
The purpose of the event was to make gospel music available so people would not have to travel 100 miles or more to enjoy a gospel music concert.
The first singers to agree to perform were Jack Crane, Brad Mount and The Messengers Quartet and the beginning was well received by attendees from the Miss-Lou.
Many different singing groups have come and ministered in song but the first singers have always been invited to come back for the anniversary singings.
Jack Crane and The Messengers Quartet will be performing again this year.
An invitation is extended to come and enjoy a great time of fellowship and gospel music.
There is no admission fee but a love offering will be received for the singers.
