Hey, it’s me again. Time really flies. This time I want to inform you it’s time to think about Boys State at Co-Lin Wesson May 23-29.

Application forms are available at www.MSBoyState.com and each local high school.

While the fee is $250, many civic clubs and organizations are willing to help with sponsorships.

May I suggest if you have a child, grandchild or friend who is in the 11th grade and would benefit by a life and career-enhancing experience, then get on board to talk to him, his parents and teachers.

Have him get an application and send it in to the Department of Mississippi American Legions Boys State, P.O. Box 688, Jackson, MS 39205 by April 15.

Boys State has been educating Mississippi’s brightest young leaders for better government tomorrow!

The American Legion is dedicated to strengthening America.

We believe there is not better way to this end than to work with our nation’s youth in order to prepare them for the tasks they will face in the years to come.

Even more important is the preparation they will receive at Boys State to recognize and seize the opportunities they will meet to enrich their communities and nation.

To all you parents, civic, fraternal, religious, governmental and organizations of every kind, please find time to talk, support, promote and make a success of Boys State by identifying young men that will be tomorrow’s leaders.

This Thursday, Post 4 will meet at noon and Shoney’s for a dutch treat meeting. Anyone wanting to know more about Boys State are welcome.

Erle Drane is the Veteran’s Service Officer for Adams County.
