Natchez — For the third year in a row, WQNZ-FM, 95 Country, “The South’s County Giant,” has been recognized as one of 50 finalists for the National Association of Broadcasters Crystal Radio Awards.

Since 1987, the NAB Crystal Radio Awards have recognized radio stations, from around the country, for their outstanding year-round commitment to community service.

A national panel of judges representing broadcasting, community service organizations and public relations firms, choose The Crystal Radio Award finalists. The 50 finalists will be honored, at the Radio Luncheon on April 21 at the National Association of Broadcasters Show in Las Vegas. Of the 50 finalists, only 10 stations will be awarded a Crystal Award.

“It’s amazing when you look at the other finalists. We are in the company of major markets like Washington, D.C., Los Angeles and Chicago,” said. Margaret Perkins, general manager of WQNZ. “I am so proud of our staff. Community service is extremely important to all of us and they are dedicated individuals, who serve our immediate and surrounding communities year round.”
