SUMMIT — Preston Edwards held North Pike to just two hits, and he hit two home runs, as the Cathedral Green Wave trounced the Jaguars 12-1 in five innings Saturday afternoon to remain undefeated.
North Pike scored its only run off Edwards in the bottom of the first inning.
The two hits Edwards gave up were a double by C. Timmons and a triple by J. Badon.
This was also the second straight game that Edwards hit two fly balls out of the park.
Cathedral (14-0) scored one run in the top of the first inning, and then put away North Pike with a six-run rally in the top of the second.
After the Green Wave were unable to put up any runs in the next two innings, they scored six runs again, this time in the top of the fifth.
Edwards went 3-for-4 while Kole Junkin went 2-for-4 with both of his hits being doubles and Caleb Johnson went 2-for-3 with a double.
As a team, Cathedral had a total of 14 hits in the game.
