NATCHEZ — Festival goers won’t be singing the blues after a weekend chock full of music at the Natchez Bluff Blues Fest, festival organizer Eric Glatzer said.
The 14th annual festival will get under way tonight with a crawfish boil and concert by Black Bayou on Broadway Street, and will open in full-force Saturday. The music will start at 11:30 a.m. with performers like Bobby Rush, YZ Ealey & the Natchez Bluff Blues Band and Kenny Brown taking the stage in Rosalie’s Bicentennial Garden, one after another.
The music will continue Sunday with blues brunches at Natchez restaurants and a gospel concert at the amphitheater on the Vidalia riverfront. The blues brunches will be at Pearl Street Pasta, Biscuits & Blues and the Eola Hotel.
Glatzer said the addition of Sunday entertainment has been a goal for several years.
“I think the gospel concert is going to be a great addition to the festival,” Glatzer said.
While the big stage will be set up on the bluff, the music Friday and Saturday will be spread out across the town. Glatzer said several local restaurants and clubs will have host festival performers at night.
Admission to Saturday’s afternoon of concerts is $10 in advance and $15 at the gate. Advance tickets can be purchased though Natchez Pilgrimage Tours, www.natachezpilgrimage.com or by calling 601-446-6631.
Admission to the crawfish boil and the gospel concert is free.
