NATCHEZ — Construction is under way on a new Tractor Supply Company store on U.S. 61 North.

Glenn Green of Paul Green & Associates said Monday his company recently closed a sale on the development site adjacent to Dollar General.

Green said Thomason & Associates of Nashville, Tenn., is overseeing construction.

“(Tractor Supply) hopes to have the building finished and open for business in October,” Green said. “It is a reputable, national chain, and will have spent about $1.2 million to $1.4 million by the time we get everything built.”

Tractor Supply Company, the largest retail and ranch store chain in the U.S., operates more than 900 stores in 44 states and employs more than 13,000 people, according to its Web site.

Tractor Supply Company currently has stores in Batesville, Corinth, Forest, Hazlehurst, Horn Lake and Tupelo.
