UPDATE: Natchez woman shot multiple times before jumping out of car on I-55

NATCHEZ — The Natchez woman who was killed after being kidnapped from the Canton Nissan plant on Monday morning had been shot multiple times before she jumped out of a vehicle onto Interstate 55.

A spokesman for the Madison County Sheriff’s Office told reporters also that the gun used by alleged suspect Joshua Andrews had been recovered by law enforcement authorities.

Glynnis Jackson, 31, was allegedly taken by force from her job at the Nissan plant by Andrews, 29.

A spokesman for the Madison County Sheriff’s Office said deputies received a call about the kidnapping from the Canton Nissan plant at approximately 7:30 a.m. Monday.

Holmes County Sheriff Willie March told reporters Jackson jumped out of the vehicle on Interstate 55 in Holmes County, near the Carroll County line. He said Jackson was hit by another car traveling on I-55 and was killed.

Carroll County Sheriff’s deputies took Andrews into custody. He was transported to the Madison County Detention Center, where he was charged with capital murder.
