Schools, government offices closed Tuesday, Wednesday for winter weather

All Adams County schools and government offices except for essential personnel will close Tuesday and Wednesday due to winter weather expected overnight Monday through Wednesday this week, officials said at a weather briefing Sunday.
Schools in Concordia Parish announced closing Tuesday for the weather.
Snowfall between one and 4 inches is possible from midnight Monday through noon on Tuesday as the Miss Lou region receives its coldest weather of the season.
Weather is expected pre-dawn Tuesday through Wednesday night with temperatures around 27 degrees and below freezing until noon Wednesday.
Schools county wide will have virtual studies Tuesday and Wednesday. City and county workers will start sanding bridges Tuesday morning.
The Adams County Safe Room at 323 Liberty Road will open as a warming shelter starting tonight (Sunday) until Thursday morning at 8 a.m. Volunteers are welcome and donations of towels, blankets, and toiletry kits are appreciated, officials said. Call 601-445-3525 for more information.
As the winter weather approaches, keep faucets at a slow drip and wrap exposed pipes to prevent pipes from freezing and bursting, bring pets inside and check on neighbors, officials advised.
