NATCHEZ — Four arrests have now been made so far by the Natchez Police Department related to a double homicide that happened near an elementary school around midnight on Dec. 11, 2024.

On Friday, Darryl Keith Hurts Jr., 26, was indicted on two counts of murder and one count of attempted murder in the shooting that killed 39-year-old Keitra McDonald and 43-year-old Londell Williams and injured a third person on Lewis Drive near Hope Lane.

Natchez Police Department Commander Jerry Ford said Jeremiyah Clark and Larry Griffin Jr. have also been arrested and charged with the same – two counts of murder and one count of attempted murder. Police also arrested Nolanna Dewayne Paul, 25, and charged her with accessory after the fact for reportedly driving fugitives after the incident.

Clark and Hurts were both arrested and picked up by the Adams County Sheriff’s Office at a Vicksburg hotel on Jan. 1 along with Aereia Hearron, 28, for questioning regarding another deadly shooting that happened on New Year’s Eve in Adams County.

Though no charges have yet been made in that shooting, which killed Keyuan King and injured multiple other people in the area of Finger Lane, located off of Lower Woodville Road, Patten said they are still suspects in the case.

Hearron and Hurts each face additional charges from ACSO for accessory after the fact of murder for aiding and abetting related to the NPD case and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon and Hurts with an MDOC probation violation.

“After Adams County picked them up in Vicksburg, we were able to link them up to other evidence to charge them with murder in the Dec. 11 shooting,” Ford said of Clark and Hurts.

While the suspects in the Lewis Drive shooting are tied to the shooting in Adams County on New Year’s Eve, NPD Chief Cal Green said the shooting is unrelated to the Jan. 1 shooting on Dumas Drive, which killed 21-year-old Jalen Griffin.

In that shooting, Ford said police arrested Rashad Stewart, 19, Treveyon Coach, 20, both from Natchez this week and charged them both with murder. It’s is believed that Coach, Stewart and Griffin had all been armed and shooting. Coach was injured and Stewart was unharmed.
