NATCHEZ – Funeral services for Mary Hooper Green, 73, of Natchez, who passed away on Jan. 10, 2025, at her residence, will be held on Sunday, Jan. 19, 2025, at New Hope: The Vision Center at 2 p.m. with Bishop Stanley Searcy, Sr., under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Vidalia City Cemetery.

Visitation services will be held on Saturday, Jan. 18, 2025, from 3 until 5 p.m. at the Marshall Funeral Home Chapel in Natchez, and on Sunday, Jan. 19, 2025, from 1 p.m. until the service time.

Mary, affectionately known as “Co-Pastor”, was born in Natchez on Feb. 3, 1951, to William Hooper and Leanner Lacey. She served as a faithful co-pastor of God’s Way Baptist Church of Vidalia.

She is preceded in death by her parents; two sons-in-law, and one nephew, Tony Shelton.

“Co-pastor” leaves to cherish her memories her husband, Pastor David Green, Jr.; children, Leanna R. Green and Mary N. Levy, Eric (Shannon) Hooper, and Jeremy R. Green; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; godchildren, Koby Myles, Alexis White, Latasha Shelton, and Tiffany; and special friends, Patricia Butler and Mary Jackson.
