NATCHEZ – Funeral services for Ruby Mae Felton Smith, 83, of Roxie, who departed this earthly life on Monday, Jan. 6, 2025, in Natchez, will be held on Saturday, Jan. 18, 2025, at 10 a.m. at West Gate Funeral Home (George F. West Sr. Memorial Chapel) with Pastor Sonny Smith officiating.

Burial will follow at the Rose Hill Church (Felton Family) Cemetery in Fayette under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.

Visitation will be held on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Ruby was born on March 25, 1941, in Jefferson County, the daughter of Rosa Carter Felton and James Felton. She was a retired self-employed mechanic and was a member of the Order of Eastern Star. Ruby enjoyed fixing vehicles and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roosevelt Smith, Sr.; and daughter, Debbie Bates.

Ruby leaves to cherish her memories: sons, Roosevelt Smith, Jr., Curtis Smith, and Darryl Smith; daughters, Jessie Jones (Preston), Ellen Smith, and Zellen Smith; brothers, Alvin Felton (Geneva), Arthur Felton, M. E. Felton (Bessie) and Elmond Felton; sister, Vera Allen; and a host of grandchildren, children she raised, and other relatives and friends.
