NATCHEZ – Karen, age 70, of Natchez, left this earth on Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2025.

Karen was born in Jena, LA, to Helen Marie Taylor Walsworth and James Walsworth. She grew up in central Louisiana and graduated from Pineville High School in 1972, where she excelled in track and hurdle jumping.

She enjoyed music, singing, animals, and the Rocky Mountains. She adored Colorado and wanted to travel back there. She settled in Natchez, with her husband, Ronnie Cox, where they spent many years in historic downtown Natchez, as the owners, operators, and talent of Dimples, formerly, Bojangles/The Rumble Seat, as Ronnie Cox and The Band. Karen was the “star of the show”, with her amazing voice and stage presence. Karen traveled all over the country performing and enjoyed her time and travels doing what she loved. She adored Natchez, with its historic, beautiful homes, majestic Oaks, and Magnolia trees, which were her absolute favorite. Even though she moved away from Natchez for many years, she always talked about returning and moving back in 2021. She loved her family and friends, to a fault at times, and her Chihuahua, Angel, was her cherished companion in her later years of life.

She is preceded in death by her parents and siblings and is survived by her children, Shanna Marie Edwards, Ronald Gene Cox Jr., and Jacob Thomas Poole, her grandchildren, and extended family.

Karen was loved by so many and will be deeply missed by all. May you rest well and sing with the angels in Heaven now that you are no longer in pain and are finally at peace.

A private family memorial will be held at a later date.
