AGENDA: Police jury meeting Monday includes vote on president, vice president

NATCHEZ — The Concordia Parish Police Jury’s first regularly scheduled meeting of 2025 begins at 6 p.m. Monday in the Concordia Parish Courthouse at 4001 Carter St., Room 2.
As is tradition during the first meeting of a new year for the police jury, the board will nominate its president and vice president.
Also on the agenda of the regular police jury meeting is considering adopting a resolution that provides for the canvassing of the returns and declaring the results of a special election that was held on Dec. 7, 2024, in Concordia Parish to authorize the renewal of a sales and use tax.
In other matters, the police jury will hear a presentation from Cassandra Lynch of the Vidalia Beautification committee, discuss renewing James Lee’s appointment to another five-year term on the Library Board, discuss approving the annual budget of the North Louisiana Criminalistics Laboratory Commission, and approve jurors and the secretary-treasurer and bookkeeper’s travel to attend any required training and conferences in 2025.
The police jury will also discuss advertising for bids for maintenance unit materials and discuss parish ordinance violations, work orders and the superintendent’s material and work requests.
