WILDSVILLE – Funeral services for Artrie “Sister” Bloodsaw Skipper, 96, of Ferriday, who passed at her residence on Jan. 2, 2025, peacefully along with her loving family at her bedside, will be held at 1 p.m., on Saturday, Jan. 11, 2025, at Old Daughters Baptist Church in Wildsville, LA with Bishop Justin Conner officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the directions of Concordia Funeral Home of Ferriday.

Visitation will be on Friday, Jan. 20, 2025, from 4 until 6 p.m. at the funeral home.

Artrie Bloodsaw Skipper was born on July 14, 1928, in Archie, LA, the daughter of Ike and Cenolia Allen Bloodsaw.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clarence Skipper; one son, Morris Skipper; seven brothers, Herman, Ike Jr., Johnny, Henry Lee, David, Joseph, and Jessie Bloodsaw; and one sister, Vivian Bloodsaw.

“Sister” leaves to cherish her loving memories to her, one son, Kerry Skipper (Constance “Kym”) of  Euless, TX; two special granddaughters that were her loving caregivers, Shawanda Anderson (Damon) and Angeneatt Banks (Mayor Alvin Garrison) both of Ferriday; three brothers, Glenn Bloodsaw (Joyce) of  Southfield, MI; Boston Bloodsaw of  Hopskinville, MI;  Floyd Bloodsaw of Detroit, MI; her oldest cousin, Elidee Slain of  Ferriday; and a number of other relatives and family friends.
