NATCHEZ — Adams County Coroner James Lee released the name of the victim who was killed late Tuesday during a New Year’s Eve shooting on Finger Lane.

Keyuan King, 24, of Natchez died from multiple gunshot wounds, Lee said.

“This was horrible,” He said. “I could see the hurt and pain in his mother and father’s eyes as I stood quietly knowing there was very little I could do. These types of shootings can never be accepted as the norm. We have to change this path of murder somehow in Adams County 2025.”

Lee added that the victims body would be transported immediately to the State Crime Lab for autopsy.

Several more people were reportedly injured by multiple gunshots in the area of Finger Lane, located off of Lower Woodville Road in Adams County Tuesday at approximately 9:48 p.m.

Adams County Sheriff Travis Patten said King was one of five people who had been transported to the hospital. Three were taken by ambulance and two more by private vehicles to Merit Health Natchez. More people possibly hurt on the scene refused medical treatment, he said. At least two shooters are thought to be involved in the incident and are still at large, he said.

“Right now we’re gathering as much evidence from the scene as possible and it is an active ongoing investigation. We will update you all on the progress. We’re working to bring this to a closing as quickly as possible and have reached out to other agencies to assist us with that.”
