NATCHEZ – Funeral services for Mary Bass, 88, of Natchez, who departed this earthly life on Friday, Dec. 6, 2024, in Natchez, will be held on Saturday, Dec. 14, 2024, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary Baptist Church with Pastor Wilsonni Johnson officiating.

Burial will follow at the St. Mary Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.

Visitation will be held on Friday, Dec. 13, 2024, from 5 until 6 p.m. at the funeral home and will continue on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.

Mary was born on Oct. 5, 1936, the daughter of Mary Williams and Sam Singleton. She was a member of the St. Mary Baptist Church, where she served as a choir member.

She is preceded in death by her husbands, Arthur James Richardson Sr., and Cornelius “Bubba” Bass; sisters, Catherine Hall and Margaret Pollard; and daughters, Cora Manuel and Vickie Richardson.

Mary leaves to cherish her memories: sons, Arthur Richardson Jr. (Grace), Sam Richardson Sr., Willie Richardson (Pamela), Michael Richardson Sr. (Karen), Karl Richardson Sr. (Sandra), and Tony Richardson Sr. (Teresa); daughters, Sherry Richardson, Brenda Russell, and Julia Clark (Charlie); brother, Alec Williams; sister, Ruth Richardson; god-sister, Velma Vanderson; friends, Verdie McCormick, Bell Carter, and Nancy Mosby; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other relatives, and friends.
