NATCHEZ — City of Natchez firefighters had a busy afternoon and evening on Saturday.

Firefighters responded to a house fire on Newman Road.

“They were able to get a good knockdown on it,” said Fire Chief Robert Arrington. “The call came in that someone was inside the home. However, our guys did a good primary search and no one was in the home.”

Arrington said he did not know the extent of the damage to the home or the case of the fire.

A short time later, the same firefighting crew was called to a fully involved truck fire at 11 Nations Road in Adams County.

Arrington said no one was injured in either fire.
