A dense fog advisory was issued by the National Weather Service on Wednesday at 3:42 a.m. in effect until 9 a.m. The advisory is for Richland, Madison, Franklin, Tensas, Warren, Hinds, Rankin, Scott, Newton, Lauderdale, Claiborne, Copiah, Simpson, Smith, Jasper and Clarke counties.

The NWS describes, “Visibility less than one quarter of a mile in dense fog.”

“Low visibility could make driving conditions hazardous,” adds the NWS. “If driving, slow down, use your headlights, and leave plenty of distance ahead of you.”
