NATCHEZ – Mr. Jacob William Eidt, Jr. passed away on Thursday, Nov. 21, 2024, at his home in the care of Hospice and his family.
He was born on Aug. 24, 1938, in Natchez, to the late Jacob William Eidt and Lela Goyne Eidt. He attended St. Mary’s Catholic School and was a graduate of Mississippi State University where he received a degree in engineering. He is a veteran of the United States Army. He lived most of his life in Natchez where he was a member of St. Mary Basilica and was employed as an industrial engineer with the Armstrong Rubber Company, Pirrelli Tire Company, and Titan Wheel.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Amanda Rodriguez Eidt; his sons, Manfred William Eidt and Jacob Ivan Eidt; his daughters-in-law, Jaqueline Biggs Eidt and Laura Sager Eidt; his grandsons, Altman Hinson Biggs, Niccolo Dominik Eidt and Rafael Claudio Eidt, and his granddaughter, Maria Amanda Eidt.
Visitation will take place at 10 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 25, 2024, at St. Mary Basilica in Natchez, followed by a celebration of the Mass at 11 a.m. Graveside services will be held at the Natchez City Cemetery with a repast to follow at the O’Connor Family Life Center across from St. Mary Basilica.
