NATCHEZ — Natchez police are at the scene of a two-vehicle collision involving a police unit and Chevrolet pickup truck at Lynda Lee and D’Evereux drives.

The incident occurred before 8:30 p.m.

The driver of the pickup has been transported to the hospital but seems OK and the officer involved is OK, Natchez Police Chief Cal Green said.

The truck was lying on its side in the intersection.  The front end of the police unit was damaged but does not appear to be beyond repair.

Jason’s Body Shop and Chop’s Wrecker and Crane Service are on the scene removing the wreckage.
