NATCHEZ — It’s Day 4 since Magnolia Bluffs abruptly closed its doors at the Natchez casino.

On Friday afternoon, Amy Brannigan, director of marketing at Saratoga Casino Holdings LLC, Magnolia Bluffs’ parent company, said the casino closed because of IT issues.

Tuesday evening, Brannigan said the casino remains closed. “Unfortunately, we have no updates on when we will reopen,” Brannigan said.

Brannigan confirmed on Saturday evening that computer problems have affected the company’s Colorado and New York state casinos.

“All properties were impacted in some way,” Brannigan said. “Unfortunately, we have no update on a timeframe (for opening the casino in Natchez) yet.”

Several messages have been left with Mississippi Gaming Commission officials seeking comment, but none of those calls have been returned.

Natchez Mayor Dan Gibson said the City of Natchez stands ready to assist Magnolia Bluffs in any way it can.

“We are very grateful to have Magnolia Bluffs as such an important partner to Natchez. They employ so many and provide first-class entertainment to people, not only the Miss Lou, but all over the country and even the world. We are hopeful that these issues they are having with their IT programs will be resolved soon and we are praying that all will be back to normal in the very near future,” Gibson said.

“We have expressed our support to Eugene Gibson, Magnolia Bluffs general manager, and have told him the city will assist in any way that we can. He has done a great job in keeping us updated,” he said.
