NATCHEZ – Funeral services for Ida Denise Cook, 63, of Natchez, who departed this earthly life on Saturday, Nov. 2, 2024, in Natchez, will be held on Saturday, Nov. 9, 2024, at 11 a.m. at St. Mark #2 Baptist Church with Pastor Kenneth Stanton officiating.
Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, Nov. 9, 2024, from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.
Ida was born on Jan. 22, 1961, in Natchez, the daughter of Lucy Lewis, and was raised by William and Marie Cook. She received her high school diploma and was employed with International Paper until her retirement. While in Texarkana, TX, she attended church where she was a member of the mass choir, and a member of the hospitality, decorating, and culinary committees. She was a member of the St. Mark #2 Baptist Church in Kingston. In her spare time, she enjoyed spending time with her family, loving on her grandchildren, being with friends, and shopping from Temu.
She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Donald Ray Cook and Jessie Lee Lewis; and sister, Mona Marie Lewis.
Ida leaves to cherish her memories: her birth mother, Lucy Lewis; sons, Phillip Cook and Johnathan Cook (Latanya); daughter, Candace Cook-Wright (Courtney); brothers, Wesley Sherod (the late Beverly) and Robert Lewis (Cassandra); sisters, Rosalyn Hill (Troy), Patricia Brown (Alton), and Carolyn Ann Lewis; and a host of other relatives and friends.
