NATCHEZ — Natchez Firefighters were called to two fires in Adams County on Sunday.
At 5:20 p.m., E-911 dispatchers received a call of a car fire at 157 Spokane Road.
Officials said the car’s air conditioner was not working properly, so it was pulled into a shop to have it checked.
The vehicle began smoking and by the time it was pulled out of the shop, it was on fire. Officials said the fire began under the dash.
Firefighters also fought a field fire across the roadway from 42 Windy Hill Road.
That fire is thought to have been started by a transformer. About a quarter of an acre was burned.
Adams County is under a burn ban until Nov. 21.
