3 vending machines’ money stolen

NATCHEZ — An unknown suspect has taken an unidentified amount of cash from three vending machines at local groceries this week.

On Wednesday, Southside Market and Natchez Market No. 1 both reported early in the day that someone had used an object to pry open beverage machines. The monetary contents were missing.

Natchez Police Chief Mike Mullins said it is likely the incidents took place late Tuesday evening.

On Thursday, the Family Dollar on U.S. 61 North also reported a similar incident in which a vending machine was pried open, and its money was stolen.

Police are investigating the crimes and looking for the suspect, who is wanted for grand larceny and felony malicious mischief.
