FERRIDAY – Funeral services for Mrs. Cleo Neal Hooper, 93, of Vidalia, will be held on Saturday, Oct. 26, 2024, at 11 a.m. from St. Thomas Baptist Church in Ferriday (Levee Heights) under the directions of Concordia Funeral Home of Ferriday. Burial will follow at the Vidalia Cemetery with Pastor Jonathan Jacobs officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday evening from 5 until 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Hooper, daughter of Charlie and Viola Hawkins Neal, was born in Knox, LA and died at the Clarity Hospice of Baton Rouge in Baton Rouge, LA. She was a devoted member of St. Thomas Baptist Church for many years where she served on the Mother’s Board.
Her memories will be cherished by her children, Carol Armsted (Clarence) of Natchez; Ernest Hooper (Doris); Garderia Hooper (Jessica) all of Ferriday; Floyd Hooper and Mary McDonald both of Vidalia; Dwayne Hooper (Felicia) of Leesville, LA; and Patricia Burgess of Gonzales, LA; two brothers, John Neal (Addie) and James Neal; one sister, Savannah Neal all of Baton Rouge, LA. Also, eight grandchildren, thirty-three great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Preceding Mrs. Hooper in death are her parents; husband, Edward Hooper; one son, Clint Allen Hooper; one daughter, Janice F. Hooper, and a number of siblings.
